LANDLORD INSURANCE

For years the TICA Group has taken great pride in providing services to the property management industry and the landlords the industry represents. From its Tenancy Databases to its Professional Development Workshops and auxiliary services TICA has always been at the forefront to protect its members and the landlords the members represent.

In light of receiving hundreds of requests from members seeking TICA's involvement in landlord insurance we are pleased to announce the launch of our new service. It has taken years of careful consideration and planning in choosing the right companies for TICA to be associated with.

TICA is excited that the time has finally arrived to announce the launch of Property Owners Extra Protection Insurance. This superior product for landlords through TICA Insurances Pty Ltd in association with St George Underwriting Agency as underwriting agent for Allianz Australia Insurance Ltd is now available to TICA members.

The launch of this new service through the TICA Group provides that extra Risk Management Aid for members and assists TICA members as a listing tool when negotiating new managements.

Property managers need to be confident that their landlord has protection when they are acting for landlords as their managing agent. Landlords can be seen by a court to delegate their duty of care under a managing agency agreement when they appoint a property manager to act for them. The legal profession often seeks to join as many parties as possible to a claim if the landlord has inadequate insurance. In the event of permanent disability of a tenant or any other third party this could amount to substantial amounts of monies.

One way a property manager can help protect themselves and the company they work for is to be confident that the landlord has adequate insurances.

Our policy provides your client with some of the protection that is needed at an affordable price. You and your client can rest easy knowing that our policy is there for them in the event that things don't go to plan. No property manager sets out to place a bad tenant in a property, but it happens. The financial devastation that this can cause may take years to rise above. Landlord Insurance is a good risk management practice.
